The VA is the 4th-largest health system in the U.S., serving more than 9 million veterans nationwide. When internal capacity can't keep pace with demand, the VA refers care out through its Community Care Network (CCN) — putting a premium on smooth, reliable handoffs.
The VA is one of the largest payvidors in the U.S. When demand outstrips internal capacity, veterans are referred out to private providers through the Community Care Network (CCN) — a handoff that's often imperfect, leading to dropped cases and worse outcomes. In 2025, the VA engaged Orchestra to streamline CCN referrals and give receiving care teams the lead time they need.
Orchestra was deployed to gather, ingest, and stratify referral data flowing from the VA. Every case referred through the CCN is processed and risk-stratified before it reaches the receiving care team, replacing a fragmented, manual referral process with one reliable system.
